Heather Desiree’s Totem Series consists of an ever expanding collection of
animals and birds found in the air, land and waters of the State of Maine, New
England and a few others thrown in for good measure. Domestic animals and birds
are also featured.

Incorporated into these gently stylized creatures, are the
deeply mystical, inherent pulse of the native peoples of this land. The
intricate ties that weave and bind mankind to our natural and spiritual world is
the thread that holds us together.

The totem creature is one which imprints itself upon our heart and soul, on our very
being. It leads us, speaks to us and guides us through the paths of our lives.
The Totem Series is the voice of our spirit guides, listen to their subtle
breath and the visions gifted to us.

These pieces beg to be held or caressed, the contours and shapes are comforting and
soothing to the touch. The stylized patterns symbolize the dream world
connecting us to our ancestors. The color palate used, identify the creatures
with their natural world but sometimes it is merely on the whim of the
artist.
